Installing

These install for the signed-in user, so Windows does not ask for an administrator password. They land in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs and appear in Add / Remove Programs like anything else.

SmartScreen. Windows shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" panel for any installer it has not seen many times before, ours included. Choose More info and then Run anyway. If you would rather check first, the SHA-256 of every file is in SHA256.txt — compare it with Get-FileHash <file> -Algorithm SHA256.

vScreen and vBackup keep running in the notification area after their window is closed, because a remote session and a backup schedule both have to outlive the window. Quit them from the tray icon.

Before you deploy across an office

Ask us first — there are a couple of things worth setting up centrally rather than on twenty machines by hand: vScreen's rendezvous server, so support connections work without opening a port on anybody's PC, and vBackup's schedule, so backups run at night with nobody logged in.
